Top 10 Best Super Bowl LVII Movie Trailers 2023

Hey everybody, welcome back to BlueBox Nerd where we bring you the latest news and updates from the world of entertainment and nerd culture. Super Bowl commercials are typically more popular than the game itself. For us, it’s the movie trailers that get us excited. In this video, we’ll count down the Top 10 best movie trailers that they played during the 2023 Super Bowl LVII.

Dungeons and Dragons

We’ll start with the latest trailer for the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons movie that has fans of the classic tabletop role-playing game ecstatic. The trailer showcases a magical and action-packed world filled with dragons, wizards, and mythical creatures. The film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, and Justice Smith as a group of adventurers who embark on a dangerous quest. With stunning visuals and a talented cast, the trailer has fans counting down the days until the movie’s release. Whether you’re a seasoned D&D player or a newcomer to the world of fantasy, this film promises to be a thrilling adventure that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

Dungeons and dragons: Honor among thieves will be out in theaters on March 31st

65 (Million Years)

We continue with one of my favorite ones of the bunch, 65. After a catastrophic crash on an unknown planet, pilot Mills quickly discovers he is stranded on Earth 65 million years ago. Now, with only one chance at rescue, Mills and the only other survivor, Koa, must make their way across an unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures (including dinosaurs) in an epic fight to survive.   It stars Adam Driver (Kylo Wren) and Ariana Greenblatt. and it comes out on March 10th.  It definitely looks like something you’ll want to watch in theaters.  Possibly in 3d.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

Next up we have the newest installment in the Transformers franchise, Rise of the Beasts. It stars the Dino bots from the Beast Wars storyline. 90s kids will remember the TV show Beast Wars.  Super Bowl commercials wouldn’t be complete without a Transformers trailer.

It is the seventh installment in the Transformers film series and a standalone sequel to Bumblebee, the movie from 2018.

It takes place in 1994 and features a pair of human archaeologists from Brooklyn who comes into an ancient conflict through a globe-trotting adventure with the Autobots

It will star Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Luna Lauren Vélez and Tobe Nwigwe in his film debut, as well the voice talents of Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman, and Peter Dinklage.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is scheduled to be released theatrically in the United States on June 9, 2023, by Paramount Pictures. Two sequels are in development.

Super Mario Bros

Next up is a short teaser for the Super Mario Bros animated movie. The trailer starts out as a TV commercial for the Mario Brothers Plumbing company.  Complete with a 90s-style hip-hop track that brings back memories of the fresh prince.  It advertises the brothers’ plumbing business. There are rumors that they have lives in the “real world” and get transported to the mushroom kingdom at some point in the movie so this might be the real-world aspect of the movie.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is scheduled for release in the United States on April 7, 2023, and in Japan on April 28.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 3

Next up is the final installment to the Guardians of the Galaxy.

In volume 3, The Guardians are adjusting to life on Knowhere, but when parts of Rocket’s past resurface, Peter Quill must lead the Guardians on a dangerous mission to protect him that could lead to the team dissolving.

They are bringing back the whole cast for a third time and will be released on May 5th as part of phase 5 in the MCU theatrical run.  It is hard to believe we are now up to 28 films in the franchise and still going strong.

The Christmas special on Disney+ was awesome so I’m glad we are getting a third and final film to the main guardian volumes.

Volume 3 hits theaters on May 5th.

Fast X

Fast X, also known as fast and the furious 10 is next featuring Vin Deisel reprising his role as Dom Toretto as he must protect his crew and family from cipher has now joined forces with Deonte, the son of a drug kingpin. Herman Reyes played by Jason Momoa, is seeking revenge for his father’s death during the events of fast 9  and 12 years after fast five. There will be 11 total films in the main fast saga so this will be the second to last installment. So the Fast Super Bowl Commercials might be coming to an end soon.

Fast X is set to release on May 19, 2023, with a budget of $340 million these things keep getting more and more expensive and wild.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (5)

Next, we have the 5th Indiana jones film. The first film in the series that is not directed by Steven Spielberg or written by George Lucas, as they step back into executive producer roles instead. It is also the first film in the series not to have the involvement of Paramount pictures as the Walt Disney Company acquired Lucas film in 2012.

It takes place in 1969 when Indiana Jones lives against the backdrop of the Space Race. Jones is uneasy over the fact that the U.S. government has recruited former Nazis to help beat the Soviet Union in the competition to make it to space. His goddaughter, Helena, played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, goes with him on his journey. Meanwhile, Jürgen Voller played by Mads Mikkelsen, a NASA member, and ex-Nazi involved with the moon-landing program, wishes to make the world into a better place as he sees fit.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is scheduled for release theatrically in the United States on June 30, 2023,

The Flash

And finally, we have The Flash.  In the latest installment of the DC Universe, Barry Allen travels back in time to prevent his mother’s murder, which traps him in an alternate reality without metahumans. He enlists the help of Batman and the Kryptonian castaway Supergirl from alternate realities in order to save this world from the restored General Zod and return to his universe.

It looks like he travels between multiverses because we see 2 (or 3) Batmen from the past.   Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton.

It’s set to release on June 16, 2023

Honorable Mentions

Honorable mentions go to Creed 3, the latest installment in the Rocky series following Adonis Creed as he takes on a childhood friend that gets released from prison and wants to prove himself in the ring.  Creed 3 hits theaters on March 3rd.

And the movie Air starring Matt Damon and directed by Ben Affleck, follows the story of Sonny Vaccaro as he and Nike pursue the rookie Michael Jordan, forming a partnership that revolutionized the world of sports and contemporary culture.
