Prime Video has officially given the green light to a captivating new six-part limited series based on Stephen King’s intriguing short story, Crouch End. This much-anticipated series, also titled Crouch End, will be filmed in the UK and promises to be a masterful blend of crime and supernatural elements.
Set against the atmospheric backdrop of London, the series kicks off with an enthralling premise: global movie star Doris Freeman experiences a terrifying encounter, leading her to claim that bizarre, otherworldly events are behind her husband’s mysterious disappearance. Tasked with uncovering the truth is police inspector Ted Vetter, who must navigate a labyrinthine investigation filled with twists and turns. Is Doris telling the truth? Could she be involved in foul play herself, or is there something even more sinister lurking in the shadows?
The adaptation is in expert hands with Paul Tomalin, known for his work on Bodies, bringing the screenplay to life. Directing the series is Tom Shankland, respected for his work on Berlin Noir and The Serpent. The production will see Mammoth Screen, renowned for Hercule and The Serpent, collaborating with Fifth Season, the company behind hits like East of Eden and Severance.
