The Age of Ultron begins next week, but Doomsday is coming. Marvel fans, brace yourselves for an epic gaming experience as NetEase Games and Marvel Games have officially announced the release date for Marvel Rivals’ newest game mode, Path to Doomsday–Avengers: Age of Ultron. The PvE mode is launching on 30 July 2026 (UTC time) and promises to deliver thrilling new cinematics and voice lines as players join the Avengers in their battle against Ultron and his formidable Sentries at Avengers Tower.
Revealed at the iconic San Diego Comic-Con 2026, this latest update is generating buzz alongside exciting new content announcements such as a fresh Luna Snow costume and various physical collectibles. But when exactly can players dive into this highly-anticipated Age of Ultron mode?
During this year’s Marvel Rivals panel at SDCC, developers officially unveiled the Path to Doomsday–Avengers: Age of Ultron mode, building on the success of the Avengers (2012) asymmetrical Loki PvP mode. This time, the Avengers face off Ultron in a dynamic PvE experience that is set to rival beloved modes like Blood Hunt and Zombies.
Players will get to control iconic Avengers from the Marvel Studios movie, battling against Ultron’s drones both within Avengers Tower and in Ultron’s Data Space. The game will feature re-recorded dialogues from the original film and introduce new cinematic sequences to elevate the immersive experience.
And there’s more on the horizon. The Path to Doomsday campaign will reach its climax with a slew of new game modes and events premiering in December 2026, centered on Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. While specific details remain under wraps, fans can anticipate content spotlighting Doctor Doom, the formidable antagonist who has challenged players since Marvel Rivals’ inception.
On the fashion front, there’s an unexpected treat for Luna Snow fans. A new Luna Snow costume, titled Carmine Cassette, will soon be available exclusively from 24 July to 21 August. This costume enriches Season 9’s offering and is sure to delight seasoned players and newcomers alike. Alongside this sartorial surprise, a remix of LUNA’s “Flight Mode” titled “Flight Mode (Van Dyne Remix)” is now live on all major music streaming platforms, adding to the audio experience.
No SDCC would be complete without exciting announcements for collectors. Marvel Rivals enthusiasts can look forward to a 12-inch Jeff the Land Shark plush toy from Mattel, inspired by the quirky Incognito Jeff costume. This plush even includes a redeemable code for Jeff’s Blue Incognito in-game costume. Joining the collection are new Marvel Rivals Funko Pop! figures featuring popular characters like Jeff, Deadpool, and Cloak & Dagger. Not to be outdone, Hot Toys is also debuting a 1/6-scale Luna Snow figure capturing her essence from Marvel Rivals, complete with a code for the Luna Snow Mirae 2099 costume.
