DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has given fans an important update about his highly anticipated film, “Superman: Man of Tomorrow.” Speculation had been rampant that a teaser trailer for the movie, set to debut next summer, would be attached to screenings of “Dune: Part Three” this December. However, Gunn has put those rumors to rest.
In response to a post from BeyondReporter, Gunn took to social media platform Threads to clarify the situation. When asked about the expectations for the trailer, Gunn replied, “Expected by whom???” He further explained to a fan who accused him of not wanting fans to be hyped, “More like James not wanting people to be disappointed when there’s no trailer in December.”
Not stopping at just his Superman project, Gunn also addressed the swirling rumors about casting for Batman. He dismissed all current reports and confirmed that the casting process has not yet started, stating, “No one is in the running.”
As for the storyline in “Man of Tomorrow,” it promises to be a thrilling adventure where Superman joins forces with an unlikely ally, Lex Luthor, to combat Brainiac—a formidable threat to Metropolis and the world. The film’s cast includes David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and Lars Eidinger as Brainiac. Supporting them are Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, and a host of other talented actors.
Fans of “The Suicide Squad” will be pleased to note that the film is now considered canon, with Gunn promising to address the intriguing detail about Bloodsport, portrayed by Idris Elba, shooting Superman with a kryptonite bullet.
“Superman: Man of Tomorrow” is slated for a cinematic release on July 9th, 2027. This film promises to be a major entry in the DC Universe, with its blend of action, drama, and iconic characters.
