Genshin Impact 7.2 Update: Hour of Ruin Highlights and Features

Genshin Impact fans, prepare yourselves for a thrilling new adventure as miHoYo gears up to release Version 7.2—dubbed “Hour of Ruin”—on November 4. This highly anticipated update introduces a host of new features, expansive regions, and intriguing characters to Teyvat.

In “Hour of Ruin,” the Nails of Retribution awaken, casting a threatening shadow over the world of Genshin Impact. The calamity has summoned representatives from all seven nations to Snezhnaya, where they rally to contain the impending disaster. This update introduces players to a fresh region in eastern Snezhnaya, where they can undertake pivotal missions to curb this threat. Two familiar characters, Mitya and Valeriy, are joining the playable roster, bringing exciting enhancements to the Stellar-Conduct reactions.

The new Archon Quest is a major highlight as the nations of Teyvat unite against looming destruction. The Nails of Retribution’s growing energy sparks mysterious pillars of light that plunge each nation into crisis. Answering the Tsaritsa’s call, players will partner with Archons, Neuvillette, and allies across Teyvat to face this unprecedented peril. Successful completion of the Archon Quest promises a generous reward of 560 Primogems and valuable Character Ascension Materials for Mitya. Engage in the Secret Tsarist Assignments to earn additional rewards, including a unique Snezhnaya-themed Wind Glider.

Version 7.2 also allows travelers to explore an entirely new region, the awe-inspiring eastern Snezhnaya. Adventurers can hop aboard the railway to Novokitezhgrad, delving into its underground world rich with Kresnik Kristall. Players can journey to other significant locations like the historic city of Old Kitezhgrad at Wingspan Peak. This update challenges players with the Holy Soil phenomenon by providing new tools like Prime Ice Constructs and elemental shotguns, enhancing the exploration and combat experience.

Player-favorite new characters Mitya and Valeriy add depth to the gameplay. Mitya, a 5-star Electro Catalyst wielder, redefines Superconduct reactions, converting them into Stellar-Conduct actions that boost damage and enable dynamic battle strategies. Valeriy, a 4-star Electro Sword wielder, stands out with his support capabilities, offering shields that enhance Electro DMG, perfect for building powerful Stellar-Conduct teams.

The update unleashes a time-limited event, allowing players to experience high-stakes engagements and collaborate with allies from Mondstadt to Snezhnaya. Whether rescuing soldiers or relaying vital intelligence, participants can earn exclusive rewards like Primogems and the chance to invite a 4-star character of their choice.

Beyond combat and exploration, players can engage in a filming event in Snezhnaya, as well as a mining challenge in Natlan, further diversifying the gameplay. Adding to this variety is the new Miliastra Wonderland, featuring a masquerade-themed lobby, a free 4-star cosmetic set, and expanded options for stage editing.
