The filled Honda Center got a magical sneak peek at Frozen 3, and there’s so much excitement in store for fans. During Disney’s D23 entertainment showcase, Kristen Bell confirmed that Anna is set to marry her beloved “mountain man” Kristoff, voiced by Jonathan Groff. Fans were thrilled to learn that Anna’s sister, the charismatic Elsa, will of course be by her side as they embark on this new adventure.
Idina Menzel, the voice behind Elsa, teased that the world of Frozen is becoming “a little bit more mysterious.” The story will take both Anna and Elsa far from their familiar surroundings in Arendelle as they confront an entirely new challenge.
The exclusive footage shown featured an enchanting wedding night scene where Anna and Kristoff find Elsa on a dock. She’s examining a mysterious stone that unveils a portal leading to a treacherous, snowy dimension. Menzel hinted at “a frozen land more wild and dangerous than anything Elsa has ever created,” sparking intrigue among fans.
As our beloved characters step through this portal, they are quickly confronted by a mysterious new character. Though her face was kept hidden, hints suggest she might be a woman with short black hair and a captivating cape. This addition to the Frozen universe promises an intriguing dynamic and potential foe for our heroes.
Adding to the excitement, the stars of Frozen debuted some enthralling new music. Josh Gad, returning as the beloved Olaf, took the stage with Bell and Menzel to perform a tune dedicated to Olaf’s one true love, Samantha.
Concept art for Frozen 3 was previously shown at D23, promising answers to lingering questions from Frozen 2. Jennifer Lee, the filmmaker behind this dazzling saga, hinted at a narrative that will span two films to fully unfold the mystery of Elsa’s powers. The artwork depicted Anna and Elsa on horses moving toward a grand, floating palace, with Olaf on the back of Anna’s horse. Elsa rides her water spirit companion, Nokk, while a mysterious, horned shadow looms behind them.
Frozen 3 is set to hit theaters on November 24, 2027. This iconic franchise, having grossed $2.76 billion and won two Oscars, remains ever captivating.
